History of Global Toys

In 1984 Greg Ryan (founder of Global Toys) began piloting international flights around the world. On his travels, he would bring back unique toys that he found for his children. After he started receiving many requests from family and friends so Greg and his wife started a small import business called Global Toys.

When Global Toys first began, they focused only on specialized toys that Greg found in his travels, and the company began to grow. After some time, Eric Howard joined the company. Then the company also started selling popular seasonal toys and classic toys. Later, in 1989 Global Toys expanded into the catalog business by setting up a processing center in Sonoma, California. This catalog business helped Global Toys open bricks-n-mortar stores in Boulder, Colorado and Seattle, Washington, in 1992. Global Toys has become a well-established and respected leading toy supplier in the toy industry.

Global Toys developed a "Personalized Toy" product line in 1996. Global Toys is one of the few toy companies that sells personalized toys. Our reputation in the industry has grown quickly. Global Toys then decided to open up one more bricks-n-mortar store in Denver, Colorado in 1997.

Finally Global Toys has expanded even moreso, by taking orders through our website in January 2001.
