International Business Strategy
This paper was written as the final project for BUS D301 (The International Business Environment) course of which I enrolled in Fall 2003. The objective
of this group project was to write an international expansion proposal for an American company. My classmates and I picked Coach as our target
company and Argentina, particularly the city of Buenos Aires, as our expansion target.
Integrative Core Business Functions
The Integrative Core (or also known as I-Core) was a set of four courses covering: marketing, finance, operations, and strategic management.
I took the 12-credit I-Core in Summer 2002. At the end of the semester, a group project was assigned in the form of case study. It involved an expansion
strategy of a fictional small business company, Rosa’s Salsa, and its underlying core business functions.
Finance
Equities Portfolio: Creation and Analysis
The purpose of this group project was to create a portfolio of equities consisting of five individual stocks and analize its performance before
and during Fall 2002 semester. The project was one of the assignments for BUS F303 (Intermediate Investment) course. The second part of the project
was to give a presentation to the class regarding our investment analysis.

Undergraduate Honors Thesis on Islamic Finance
This paper was written as a final project for my second undergraduate degree in Individualized Major Program (in Islamic Finance). It was a capstone project for the major,
designed by integrating elements from courses in different disciplines into one writing regarding a topic in Islamic Finance. The field of Islamic Finance has existed for
a long time, but it gained more attention only recently. In this paper, I discuss about the focal point on the comparative study between Islamic and contemporary finance,
which is the prohibition of interest. From my research, I learned that contrary to popular belief, interest should have neutral status and it is prohibitive only in
certain cases.
History Essay on East Timor
I wrote this essay originally as a class project for HON H204 (History of American Crises) course, which I took in Fall 2003. Instead of dwelling on the human rights
aspect regarding the massacre in East Timor, I tried to explain its background by digging deeper into several historical accounts. What I found was a link connecting
the WWII, the Cold War, the 1974 Carnation Revolution in Portugal, the post-1965 failed communist coup in Indonesia, and the US loss in Vietnam War. All those events
were interconnected in a complex political web that eventually resulted in the tragic annexation of East Timor in 1975. The paper won the John W. Foster Award 2004.
